These classes are for those of us that miss working out together. You can connect with the teacher before and after class, receive custom adjustments and feedback throughout, and be motivated by your fellow classmates that are showing up with you! It’s almost as good as the good ol’ days.
You will sculpt and tone the body in this class using optional props such as ankle weights, light dumbbells, a small Pilates ball, and resistance bands. Most, or all, of class will be low impact and modifications are given throughout for injury and pregnancy. All levels welcome.
This class is a blend of flow, fire, and stretch. All you need is a mat and your bodyweight (or grab props if you'd like to take it up a notch). Each class is designed to challenge you both physically and mentally, while also supporting and celebrating where you are at right now. All levels welcome.
Sometimes we just need to sweat! Our cardio class turns up the intensity by incorporating elements of dance, plyometrics, barre, and Pilates. Show up ready to get your heart rate up and leave class feeling stronger, mobilized, and more clear-headed. All levels welcome.
I took my first class with Tenaya and Michelle in 2012. I have always been a studio junkie and workout enthusiast who will try anything, but the one workout that has stuck for the longest is the one with these two women. It has a lot to do with the class itself (it is never the same class twice, challenges both mind and body, got me in the best shape of my life and back to it after my first child) but it ultimately boils down to the instructors. Tenaya and Michelle are very intuitive on so many levels. They pace the classes perfectly and mix in intervals and rest time just enough to keep my heart level up, they understand each student's level, background, etc. and incorporate this into any adjustments and modifications (which they are always happy to give), and they both have a wonderful aura of calming yet motivating energy in every single class. Oh, and their music selection is always on point! I am so glad I get to take their classes online now that I've moved to the Bay area so I can continue my hopefully lifelong love affair with their workout method!
I’ve been going to Tenaya and Michelle’s classes for 7 years and can’t recommend their classes enough. They really focus on you as a whole person—not only does my body feel challenged in a healthy way during every class, I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. There’s always a lot of variety and fun and they’ve created such a warm community. The classes are really special, and I’m glad they were able to continue the strong momentum and spirit virtually—not an easy thing to do, but they pulled it off!
I'm so thankful TDM launched on zoom. I've always looked forward to the classes because of the amazing teachers and the people, so it's nice to still have this community even though things feel different these days. The classes are the perfect balance of ritual, strength building, flexibility and endurance, leaving me sore, strong and rejuvenated. It's been my go-to for 4 years.
Before I moved to Marina Del Rey five years ago from a small town in Connecticut I knew I needed to duplicate three things from my old life. I needed a book club, a writing class, and most important, an exercise studio that specialized in Barre classes. The first two I found through word of mouth. But exercise class was not so easy. I tried every gym and studio around. But none offered the sense of community and warmth that I had experienced back home in Connecticut. Then through a google search I found Tenaya and Michelle. As soon as I walked into their studio I knew that I had found my place. And it is still my place. I found a welcome in my new exercise community. Tenaya and Michelle figured out how to keep things going through three separate pregnancies and the pandemic. They ZOOM classes with the best of them. A challenge for the teachers as well as their students. And as we hopefully draw nearer to the end of the pandemic I know we can look forward to some exciting new developments in the way we exercise thanks to the women who are so committed to keeping us in shape and healthy.
Find your inner dancer! This class is a full-body workout combining elements of dance, pilates, yoga, and barre - in an efficient 45 minute format. We use optional props like light weights, ankle weights, and resistance bands, to maximize our time together and ensure that you leave class feeling stronger, mobilized, and more clear-headed. All levels welcome.
This class is based on Reformer Pilates movements, but has been expanded to a mat format in order to incorporate more music, flow, and fire. Each class is a full-body workout that occasionally incorporates optional props, but mainly utilizes bodyweight and light calisthenics. Whether you’re taking the 45 or 60 minute format, you'll find this class to be both physically and mentally challenging. All levels welcome.
